Jared & Nicollette in Taiwan

by Jeremy on April 13th, 2009

Jared and Nicollette travelled to Taiwan in spring 2008 to visit us. Following are some photo galleries from their visit. Enjoy!

2008 - Around Taipei

In spring of 2008, Jared and Nicollette flew to Taiwan to visit us. One day, we went for a short hike not far from our apartment. Then we continued on a drive into Yang Ming Shan National Park on our scooters. Another day, Joanne had to work, so Jared, Nicollette, and I explored Taipei. I had never been to the world's tallest building, so we headed for Taipei 101. After visiting Taipei 101, we headed to the Chiang Kaishek Memorial Hall. Actually, it's not called that anymore. It's the Taiwan National Democracy Memorial Hall, or something like that. But I still call it CKS Memorial. Then we hopped on the MRT over to Long Shan (Dragon Mountain) Temple and "Snake Alley" night market.

2008 - A Trip to Dongpu

We decided to get on a train and head to central Taiwan to explore a little. Our destination was the little mountain town of Dongpu. Once we were checked in to our room, we headed up a mountain trail to a spectacular waterfall.

2008 - Another Hike at Dongpu

Nicollette decided to chill at our hotel room after getting back from the waterfall hike while Jared, Joanne, and I set out to explore some more. We hiked up the road a bit and set out on a different trail into the mountains. In some places, the mountain dropped almost straight down from the trail

2008 - Danshui and Yang Ming Shan

After arriving back home in Taipei, we decided to visit the nearby city of Danshui at the mouth of the Danshui River on the ocean. The following day, we took a drive on our scooters up the mountain, going further into Yang Ming Shan National Park this time.
