One of my student's parents had a voucher for a free night at Papago International Resort near Taitung that they couldn't use, so they gave it to me. We took the opportunity to take Tim south on the train, show him some Taiwan countryside, and chill at the resort for two days. We rented bikes to ride out for food and found a strange roadside zoo with pygmy hippos and zebras and other strange animals. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera so didn't get pics, but I think Tim got some. We spent time at the poolside while there, and otherwise just hung out and had a good time.
